Transatlantic Cruise Sunday April 28 (Canaries Islands)

We were at our 2nd and third Canarias Island stops today and yesterday. Since we didn’t do much on Saturday I am combining two blogs

Suzanna and Wolfgang went swimming on Saturday in the main pool. Part of their challenge was to be in the pool but not have anybody else in there.  Wolfgang and Suzanna are very competitive and did lots of laps, 28 to be exact.

Suzanna went ashore today and found a fantastic aquarium, Poema Del Mar. she actually went twice because she wanted to take pictures the second time.

On Sunday, Wolfgang and Suzanna again went swimming in the morning and then we went on a excursion hiking in the volcanoes   we weren’t sure what to expect and it was a long hike 4.5 miles. This volcano area was a lot different than what we saw in Hawaii. Of course it was 500 years older and most of it was Ash and Small stone. The locals have figured out how to extract water and have planted grapes in this area as a means of income over the last 300 years. Notice the pits where the plants are in the elaborate walls used to help keep the moisture in. We had a lot of wind on our tour and the walls also help protect the plants from the high winds. This island does not get much water only 13 days of the year.

Another dinner at our favorite restaurant with our favorite friends, Wolfgang and Laura and then off to watch a movie and head to bed. The time changes again tonight. This is like our 10th time change as we flip back between different time zones
