Detroit, often dubbed “The Motor City,” is renowned for its rich automotive history, vibrant music scene, and resilient spirit. However, many may not realize that Detroit also offers unique and captivating experiences on the water. Embarking on a cruise ship in Detroit presents a distinctive way to explore the city’s waterfront and beyond, combining the excitement of travel with the charm of maritime adventure.

Detroit’s riverfront has undergone a remarkable transformation in recent years. The Detroit Riverwalk, a 5.5-mile promenade along the river, is a testament to the city’s revitalization efforts. From this vantage point, you can witness a blend of historic landmarks and modern developments. The stunning views of the skyline, coupled with the serene waters of the Detroit River, create an unforgettable backdrop from our ship.

After we arrived back at the ship we had to attend a mandatory training and test for our Kayak excursions. We have two scheduled for this cruise. We have to take a rubber zodiac boat off our main ship, then get into the kayak from the zodiac. They taught us the best way to do it and also checked to make sure we could actuallly do it.
