Transatlantic Cruise – Wed May 1 (Sea Day)

Another relaxing sea day.

Nana started her day with a competitive swim with Wolfgang.

Nana did bridge both in the morning and afternoon. Papa was the fill in but wasn’t needed so he was able to get a lot of programming done.

I heard back from someone at the JMRI (Model Train Program) group who was able to help on my programming. It is so quick getting answers with the internet.  30 years ago I would have to find the right book and even then I would have never figured it out.   While I got my answer, I had to change a lot of my coding to get everything working. I now have 2 of the programs (of the 20) working great. The rest will go a lot faster as 95% of the code never changes and just gets imported into the individual programs.   My goal is to have all the Nunes, Eperthener and Battle Creek programs on individual SD cards that I can just insert into the Raspberry Pi’s and run.   Two more sea days, hopefully I can do it.

I know you wanted to read about the cruise.  But…..this is what I do for my hobby and I love it. When you get a complicated program to run real trains around a track that do what you want with no errors is very satisfying for me. I savor the accomplishments when I can.

Remember this blog is for you …… grandchildren. Hopefully you will see what Nana and Papa are like and what makes us tick.  I always wanted to know more about my grandparents as well as my great grandparents.  When you all get to that point hopefully this blog will still be around and you can understand us a little better.

Tonight is another soccer game. Wolfgang is so excited. Nana took a nap so she could watch the game, which started at 9pm but she slept right through the game. Papa went to the Lido deck to watch the game on the big screen with Wolfgang and Lauara. Wolfgang gets so excited acout soccer. A small crowd at the game and not very lively though it was a boring game 1-0.

Tomorrow is our last stop at A Coruna Spain. We passed close to Portugal today and we waved at the Nunes family!

We receivd our picture from the reception with the captain.
