PTC Train Open House

Today we hosted an open house of our Train Layout for the Atlanta Garden Railroad Club (GGRS). Our club hosted the Southeast Regional Conference and opened up about 14 of the local layouts in Atlanta. We had visitors from all over the US and some of our neighbors and friends dropped by. We had about 200 people in all to see the layout.

My local children and grandchildren were all on hand to help with the prep work earlier in the week as well as helping during the open house. We even had some friends, Wolfgang and Laura come to visit and help to build a new train station and extend a bridge. Everyone had a great time playing with trains and talking with people. Overall it was a great success.

My daughter made up train shirts for everyone, even those that were out of town. If you look closely at the picture below you will see my shirt has the engine on it, Nana’s shirt has the caboose (with a moose and a goose) on it and everyone else had a different type of car. Everyone picked what train job they wanted and that was put on the back of the shirt.

Enjoy the movie of the show and the family.
